Let's find out!
(just a reminder guys, this narration is best enjoyed with headphones on!)
As you have read from my previous review (Sonic Riders) Fraser "CRSnake" West wanted me to review this game. After getting the sh!t beaten out of me several times on King of Fighters 98 after he found out that I reviewed Sonic Riders first. After this, I promised I would review this game next.
I thought I had the right to pick the review to mark the occasion as I put in the work and I was the one graduating.
The Resident Evil series, along with Silent Hill has been the cornerstone of the survival horror genre. The fourth entry of this series has been praised by die-hard fans.
This game takes place six years after the events of Resident Evil 2. You play as one of the series' equal property @$$ kickers Leon Kennedy who was deployed to an unnamed village in Europe. The problem is that the village has been taken over by a mysterious cult. So it is up to you to investigate what's going on in the region, save the President's daughter, Ashleigh Graham. and of course, fill the undead, with a load of lead!
The accessibility scores are as follows:
Visibility 10
There are no colour coded elements that can cause an issue for colourblind players.
Audibility 10
In-game subtitles are enabled by default, so you should be fine with this game
Mobility 8
Although a Legacy-style layout does exist, this game relies on Tank Controls. Read my review of Silent Hill 2(https://disabledgame.blogspot.com/2015/05/all-stars-of-hill-of-evil-chapter-2.html) for an explanation on how they work. The game's shooting mechanic is the perfect blend of accuracy and accessibility.
You hold the right trigger to take aim, move the left stick to adjust it, then press the X button to shoot. This allows you to be a bit more precise with your shots, as it helps you hit a certain location on your enemy, like the head or chest, which deals more damage than shooting it in the legs.
Gameplay 9
This game is pretty decent for a Resident Evil title matter of fact, this game is pretty good! although the game focuses more on action than the horror elements, as you will face the horde a little too early in the game.
In summary, this game is not the best Resi Evil game I have ever played. But not the worst either. If it's the really scary, sleep killing stuff you're looking for, I'd say Silent Hills 1 or 2 or Resident Evil 2 remake would be the games you're looking for but if you are getting into the whole survival horror genre, this could be a good starting point.
OVERALL SCORE 92.5%
See you guys in the next review
