Review of Outer Worlds (Xbox One, PC)

I'm gonna send him to Outta Space to find another race

I'm back after a small break to review a recent release from the developers of  Fallout: New Vegas and the highly successful South Park: The Stick of Truth Can this game rack up a massive score?

Let's find out!

(this narration is best enjoyed with Headphones on)

Single-player only games are in a sort of renaissance these days. With games like Bethesda's Fallout series keeping this type of game alive.

This game takes place in an alternate history.  The assassination of U.S President William  McKinley was foiled, therefore Theodore Roosevelt never comes into office. Society is ruled by Mega-Corporations who started to terraform (changing a planet's environment and climate to make it habitable by human colonists.) and colonising alien planets. Your character finds himself in a colony called Emerald Vale in the Halycon System.

The colony is on the verge of collapse due to starvation due to the lack of nutrients in the food. All of this is covered up by a propaganda campaign. It is up to you to pledge allegiance to the various factions  active in the colony, and take part in an epic conflict for survival

The accessibility scores are as follows:

Visibility 8
There is no colourblind mode available, but the colour scheme is colourblind friendly by default. Unlike New Vegas,  you can't customise the colour of the Heads up Display. So, the system wasn't broke in Fallout, why bother to fix it?

Audibility 10
There are in-game subtitles present in this game. So you can play this game quite easily. In a dialogue-heavy game like this, this is a deal-breaker!

Mobility 9.5
There's a controller option. But the stick layout options are limited at best. Only normal and left-handed sticks(commonly known as Southpaw.) is present. Without a Legacy layout. This game will be difficult to play.

But in the PC version, you can customise everything when using a keyboard and mouse. So it would be best to stick to the trusty Keyboard and mouse.

Gameplay 9.5
This game is pretty decent with your in-game choices dynamically changing the game's plot this game has masses amount of lifespan.

But this game is too similar to  New Vegas. but without VATS. the gunplay mechanics, the conversation system. But if you are a fan of the Fallout series, there's a lot to like. With this game being on Game Pass, this could be worth your time.

OVERALL SCORE- 92.5%

See you guys in the next review
