Review of LEGO: Star Wars The Complete Saga(various formats)

By the time you are reading this, Kenzie "N7" Retro and I are watching a triple bill of Star Wars films. From the Force Awakens to The Last Jedi, to a midnight screening of (my first one, I might add!) the Rise of Skywalker.

December 19th sees the epic conclusion to the 9-instalment long sci-fi series that has driven an entire generation of pop culture. Star Wars will be released. To finish off this hype-up and to kick off Throwback Thursdays. I have decided to pay another visit to the Galaxy Far Far Away.

Can Telltale Games kick this off with a high score?

Let's Find out!

(This narration is best enjoyed with headphones on)

Since its first inception in 1977, Star Wars has been revolutionising the Sci-Fi Genre. Ever since the saga has been ever-expanding.  With LucasFilm owned by Disney, I doubt the franch
ise has any sign of stopping. The first Star Wars game I played was X-Wing, a Space Combat Simulator. But that will be left for another review.

LEGO has been a behemoth in the Toy Industry. with movies and  video games have been based on the Danish toy company, founded by Neils B. Christensen in 1933. Telltale Games has been releasing   LEGO-based movie tie-ins. Examples of these were  Lord of the Rings/Hobbit Harry Potter. Last but, certainly not least, Star Wars. These games have been released on various consoles. From the legendary PS2  to the PSP.

This game, released on the Xbox 360, bundles   LEGO Star Wars: The Videogame and LEGO Star Wars 2:  the Original Trilogy in one package. This game recreates Episodes 1 through 6. But using LEGO Models.

The accessibility scores are as follows:

Visibility: 9
Although there is no colourblind mode, there is little need for one as most of the time almost every character on the screen is an enemy So you'll know who to waste and who will help you. If you do take down one of your buddies by mistake it won't be counted against you.

Audibility 10
There is no spoken dialogue, so no subtitles are required. If you've watched the Star Wars films before (Who hasn't?) you should be able to understand what's going on during the story.

Mobility 11
This game is very easy to play on consoles. Play on PC? only use a controller? TellTale's got ya covered! there's native controller support. The Xbox One controller we used to test it works like a dream! By the way, did I mention the controls are fully customisable? So you'll be able to play this game with no issues!

Gameplay 11
If I were to compile a list of games to play with your family this Christmas, or any Christmas for that matter, this would be on the top 5. The amount of unlockables you can get is extensive. You can even play as a Gonk Droid if you want! When you beat a level for the first time. There is a challenge mode to keep you playing. There's also a free play mode that allows you to play as any character you've unlocked. I. So you'll be playing this game for months.

Got a guest over for Christmas? plugin a second controller and play with your buddy in same-screen co-op!

This game is not too demanding graphically, you don't need a fancy PC for it to run on a decent graphics setting, at 1080p. This game is also backwards compatible on Xbox One. The price doesn't break the bank either.

In conclusion, this game is a timeless classic. Makes the same impression as Battlefront 2(2005). If you are looking for a Star Wars game to play over the festive period, I can't recommend this game enough to you!

OVERALL SCORE 102.5%
