SUMMER OF GAME PASS VERUS EDITION PART 2 Review of Dead Rising 4(PC, Xbox One, PS4)

Hey everyone! Welcome back to the Summer of Game Pass. This time, we are going to settle a beef between two members of my Local GAME, with the winner renaming the loser's dgr alias Heather "The General" picked Ryse Son of Rome, Robert, "King of Gibraltar"* has picked this game. Will it be enough to beat the General's 85%? Who will get renamed!

Without further delayIT'S TIME TO D-D-D-DUEL!

(just a reminder these narrations are best enjoyed with headphones on)

Right Robert, your turn!

Dead Rising has been a fairly strong franchise in the highly crowded  Zombie Game genre.

FUN FACT: Did you know that Half-Life 2: Episode 4 was originally to be a Zombie game? Lyon based Arkane Studios developed the fourth episode in this saga, dubbed "Return to Ravenholm" yeah, with other games like Left 4 Dead, World at War released at the time of its development it's easy to see why Valve canned it!

Anyway, back to Dead Rising, the game takes place two years in the future in 2021, a zombie outbreak has rocked the world's populace You play as Frank West, a photojournalist, turned college professor. You had to help one of your students to infiltrate a military compound who is conducting research into the zombie outbreak which happened a year ago. (next year!). Your cover got blown and is labelled a fugitive by the government.

It is up to you to uncover the cause of the zombie outbreak and find a possible cure for it.

The accessibility scores are as follows:

Visibility 10
This game needs no colourblind mode as there are no colour-coded elements that can cause issues for colourblind players,  for example, the objective arrows are in yellow so you should be fine with this game.

Audibility 10
There are in-game subtitles present, so you can understand what's going on as the story progresses.

Mobility 7
The controls are better than Ryse by a fair margin. There is no legacy stick layout but you can enable chase cam. So the camera follows you wherever you go. With numerous control layouts to choose from you will be fine, also the camera is not as bad as Ryse's as you can attack multiple enemies at once. So you can survive longer.

Gameplay 8
This game is very good,  the campaign is decent, with the addition of Capcom Heroes mode allows you to play through the game's campaign as famous characters from other CAPCOM games like Ryu or MegaMan. The lack of a  survival mode is a slight irritation. But there is a multiplayer co-op mode so you can kill zombies with your freinds on Xbox Live.

In summary, Dead Rising 4 is similar to the Rockstar classic, State of Emergency, the combat is more of a button mash fest than Ryse which makes the game repetitive, in terms of the combat. In my opinion, Left 4 Dead is still my favourite zombie game!

*=yes, that is an Apex Legends reference!

OVERALL SCORE 87.5%

ONLY 2.5% IN IT!

At the end of the conflict, Robert "the King of Gibraltar" has emerged as the victor!
