dgr Bloggies 2018 the nominations

It's that time again! the 2018 Bloggies. So, before the big ceremony on 3rd February,

The nominations are as follows

Killer Instinct
With Combo assist and a plethora of outfit and color combinations for every character to choose from  KI is the most accessible fighting game I've ever played

Audiosurf
This one's the classic tale of the underdog. With a host of control options to choose from, screen filters that cater for visually impaired players and infinite replay value as every audio file on your pc can be turned into a level. With the Orange Box soundtrack being bundled with the game, you'll feel as though you went to the shop and just looted the place!(GTA game not required)

Kenzie Retro's wildcard- Forza Horizon 4

This game is the biggest surprise of the year. The graphics look stunning on One X. With a massive open world based around the UK a diverse roster of cars to choose from you'll be playing this game for ages and that's WITHOUT the multiplayer element kicking in

Satoru Iwata Memorial Award

Project Warlock
The Undertake of the fps genre, inspired by classic, genre-defining games like Doom, Hexic, and Duke Nukem 3d (the decent one). With controller support, a retro-style screen filter which caters for visually impaiured players

Command & Conquer: Red Alert

This game is an all-time classic when I was playing this game with my best friend, Andrew "OpenRA" Carpenter, it gave me the feeling of nostalgia of the days when I was playing this on my PlayStation 1 (good times....).With Open RA free to download you  have every excuse to at least give this game a try!

Star Wars: Dark Forces 2: Jedi Knight
A marked improvement over its predecessor.  jWith patches improving compatibiloity with Win 10, adding controller support

Kezie's Wildcard-  Metal Gear Solid 3
Since the launch of the PlayStation, Hideo Kojima  and Metal Gear  is a well established series in the stealth game genre. Snake Eater sets up the events of Metal Gear perfectly. With a long immersive story and this game along with Sons of Liberty backwards compatible on Xbox One you'd be mad not to at least try this game  out!

Wooden Spoon Award
Sonic the fighters
This sorry @$$ excuse for a game has poor controls  basic graphics, even for a Saturn game. Playing this game is more of a chore. It was a profound pleasure to rip this game to shreds.

Half  Life

With no subtitles present this game is more of a chore  to understand pains me to put valve in the firing line

Red Dead Redemption 2
With the controls changing instantly after your gun is drawn this game is a classic tale of the good sheriff turned outlaw. Lower than a snakes belly

Kenzies wildcard Star Wars Battlefront 2
The only reason why I reviewed this game in the first place is that I done messed up and got caught red handed by eagle eyed  Denny.
A marked improvement from the first entry in the series. But Eva's corporate greed strikes again with a progression system so controversial  the U.S. Senate and the Belgian Government went after the company.

Et Tu Brute Award

Fallout 76- dude where's my refund?
Bethesda rewritten the meaning of the word hypocrit after campaigning to preserve the single player games. But no, They turned Fallout to a The Elder scrolls online rip off.
When it released it was practically a buggy mess but when the angry punters demanded refunds, Bethesda refused to comply. Did they even realize they broke the Consumer Rights Act? I doubt that!

Black ops 4
Ahhh Activision always finds a way to mess things up in Black ops 4 they scrapped the single player campaign altogether what did they replace it with? A battle Royale mode! If the gene is over saturated with Fortnite PUBG and H1Z1 as it is!
To rub salt into the open wound you have to pay a dollar  To add a dot to your crosshair. When our partner reported that in one of their podcasts I originally thought it was an early April Fool's joke or a troll.
I
To my amazement, it was legit. In my experience as a business tech student this is without a shadow of a doubt the most stupid  way to scam your customers out of their hard-earned cash. Enough said

Kenzies wildcard TellTale Games

This story is a cut dry case of the Titanic. Normally when an employee is dismissed you'd give him or her 14 days notice, given a lawful, fair reason when TellTale Games went under the employees were given 30 minutesto clear their workstations with no severance pay.

This, again breaks  legislation. In this case  the Employment Rights Act 1996. Way to kill off your company while angering your entire workforce.  Management fail 101 right there

TellTale Games were a good developer. They had the Walking dead in their portfolio  and the LEGO games.

That's about it  the winners will be announced on Sunday

See you then

Editors note I'm experimenting using the blogger app
