Review of Supreme Commander 2 (PC/Steam, 360/BC)

Hey, guys! to kick off the Summer of dgr 2017, I've decided to review one of my favourite  Strategy games on the 360's library. So does this game have the accessibility features to match? Let's find out!

Supreme Commander is said to be the sequel to the highly successful and genre-defining game, Total Annihilation, released by CaveDog 1997. in 2007 Gas Powered Games released the game for the PC(you can now buy the original and TA off Steam).

This game picks up where Supreme Commander's Expansion, Forged Alliance left off. The factions that destroyed the Seraphim, theUnited Earth Federation(UEF), the Cybran Nation, a cybernetic race, lead by Dr.Gustaf Brackman, the Aeon Illuminate, followers of The Way, are once again plunged into the fires of war. The story follows three commanders who were once friends, Dominic Maddox,    Thalia Kael, Ivan Brackman through three individual campaigns. The accessibility scores are as follows

Visibility 4
You can't switch colours in the campaigns, but you can customise colours in the campaign/multiplayer. In the campaign, the colour scheme is very friendly to colorblind gamers, but a facility outwith 3rd party programs should be implemented!

Audibility 6
There are in-game subtitles in the campaign, but the lack of on-screen notifications in Skirmish/Multiplayer can be  an issue for colourblind players

Mobility 7
The hotkeys are redefinable on the PC version, but you can't on the  360 version, so it would be best for you to play it on PC (if your hardware is powerful enough)

Gameplay 8
Supreme Commander Forged Alliance, you play as four factions. But in this game, you play only three. So kind of a missed opportunity from Gas Powered Games there, but go give credit where it's due, it's actually not that bad, it keeps the TA formulae fresh while modernising it to the   7th generation of consoles. The story is very good if you've played Total Animation before, you will enjoy playing this game.

OVERALL SCORE 62.5%

Overall, for an RTS game, this one is pretty decent, for an RTS, but Halo Wars is still on top of my RTS game library!

see you guys in the next review
SpartanCommander1990 out!
