okay guys, i understand that it's not October, but due to the overwhelming demand for this series it was very difficult not to To kick the series off, i will be reviewing the sequel to a beloved Dreamcast classic
his series was requested by Emma Hall the GAME Ayr staff and John "Greig" Wilson who came up wirh the name of the series.
In 1999 the exact year of Sega's Dreamcast Sega released Typing of the Dead, originally intended for the Sega NAIOMI, but they decided to port it to the Dreamcast to showcase it's Dream Keys peripheral. But in 2013 Sega released Typing of the Dead Overkill, which is a typing tutor. The accessibility scores are as follows
Visibility 8
this game is very accessible from a colourblind player's perspective, but both in single player and multiplayer you see words on the zombies' bodes and you need to use your typing skills to type the word to shoot them. In multiplayer your online friend can assist each other as you blast away at both your keyboard and the horde of the undead. BUT it's when you are playing The port of House of the Dead Overkill, which is bundled with the game that could be problematic. each player's targeting reticule is in a different colour. Which can be a nightmare for colorblind players.
Audibility- 10
this game has full in-game subtitles so i doubt that any problems will be present for hearing impaired gamers.
Mobility 10
you could very easily play the game with any form of impairment if typing is not your forte you can use the mouse, or a gamepad to play this game. Although the controls are not redefinable ( i mean its a typing tutor, it has to!) but the variety of alternate control schemes can easily renvy this issue!
Gameplay 10
Typing of the Dead is a different breed of Horror game, this game is a unique blend of horror on-the-rails shooter and comedy. Like i said earlier in the review, this game also include a PC Port of House of the Dead Overkill. So plenty of undead to gun down! also please due to the skills i gained while playing this game, i accualy typed this review out using a QWERTY keyboard! (no joke!)
