The reviews have eyes( my top 20 CreepyPastas- number 1

So you've made it this far, if you've just joined us, throughout this month I been running through my list of my top 20 gaming Creepy Pastas. Today, we are about to find out what my number one gaming Creepy Pasta is.

Number 1. Polybius.
Know there's a lot of unsolved mysteries out there:
is there a monster in Loch Ness? Is the abominable snowman real? Is Valve finally going to release half-life 3? Why is Justin Bieber is so popular? What does the Fox say?
But then again in terms of gaming there is nothing bigger than the mystery Polybius. According to the story there was an arcade game, shipped to the sleepy suburbs of Portland, new Oregon. There was only a few arcade cabinets being distributed to small, local arcades and bars. The game was so popular, massive lines formed, even fights broke out over who will play next. According to the story, there was side effects after playing Polybius. These include insomnia, night terrors, memory loss. Some players committed suicide after playing. Other people became anti-gaming activists after playing Polybius. According to reports men in black suits walked into the arcade, collected data from the arcade cabinets and left without speaking to anyone. Which led to the belief that the US government was involved in the production of Polybius.

But then again, who actually programmed this daemonic game?
There are two possible answers for that. One said of the story is saying in a very well-known, well established company programmed it (ready for it?) Nintendo.

Nintendo was in a bad financial spot at the time. But then again there was a rookie programmer called Shegieru Myamoto. He had an idea for a game. This game is known as donkey Kong. But Nintendo's head Hiroshi Yamaguchi heard about the US government's desire to make a game for psychological attacks. He managed to get the contract and forced Myamoto to make the game using the chance to programmed the game that they really wanted, donkey Kong as insensitive. Throughout Polybius's development cycle Myamoto was withdrawn, and barricaded himself into his own office. He kept his work on Polybius's secret, even to his own employees. There was one time where Yamaguchi broke into Myamoto's office and to reveal his work on Polybius. A few hours later Yamaguchi left Myamoto's office. It is believed that Miyamoto had got Yamaguchi to back down. When Polybius was fully programmed, he handed the disc containing the relevant information for mass production of the arcade cabinets. But Myamoto remained withdrawn, still barricaded himself into his own office until he emerged with the finished copy of donkey Kong in his hand, and returned to his cheery self. Programming a game takes a good deal of work. However Miyamoto found a clever way to hide his work on Polybius. One day in the Nintendo employees Lounge an employee was playing in the very first Cabinet of donkey Kong until strange occurrences happened on screen he kept playing until the screen became distorted. The employee was alerted by a loud scream. Myiamoto entered the room he rushed forward and yanked the cabinets cable from the wall. He immediately apologised and retained his normal cheery self. The employee had an idea that something was going on. So he took a copy of the original set of code of donkey Kong with them he began playing the game, replicating his exact set of actions that she done while playing in the employee's office. During that  time the title screen with the word "POLYBIUS"was seen. His last entry into his blog was that he was about to play the mythical arcade game. It turned out that the employee committed suicide. The most gruesome in Japan. Donkey Kong was released in 1981. The same year that Polybius supposedly hit Portland.

The other half of the story is this was it was Atari who programmed Polybius. When Atari  released battle zone, a vector graphic tank shooter in 1980, which was the first virtual reality game, as it was equipped with 3D goggles. The US Army contacted Atari tpo make a version of the game for training Tank Gunners . But there is a partnership between the U.S. Army and Atari happened just months before Polybius at Portland.
A final, most popular half of the story was the was a German company called Sinneslochen. Translated it means  sense extinguish. Polybius was described as a space shooter. With subliminal messages and bright colours, which is mimics an LSD trip which became more vibrant as the game went on. Polybius is also said to be a part of the US government's MKULTRA  project which was a covert operation into brainwashing and behavioural control and attempts to create the perfect truth serum. Apparently there was a mass psychotic outbreak in the French town of Paul St Esprit. This was originally blamed on a bread fungus. But now they they are pointing the finger of blame to the US government and the MK Ultra project. Nowadays you can even download a recreation of the game Polybius at

as usual...... at your own risk!

As Jeremy Clarkson would say "on that bombshell" this concludes my list of the top 20 gaming CreepyPastas. The reason why I chose Polybius as my number one is because there is a metric ton of evidence for and against the game's existence and everyone loves a good conspiracy theory!
