Review of Jojo All-Star Battle R (various formats)

What is up everyone! This time, as a change of plans, I review the latest edition to the videogame adaptation to one of the most popular animes on the market. Can jolyne stop father Pucci, or will he achieve for the plan for heaven

Let's find out!

Wait a minute, this review was supposed to be Goldeneye, I have checked, checked again!

Who has been screwing around with the review queue?  (kono Dio da!)

Jojo's bizarre adventure is one of most popular Animes in the world. At a push, it comes close to the popularity of the big three. The first episode of this anime was first broadcast on 6 October 2012.

Since then, this franchise  has gone from strength to strength, as the seasons progresses.

FUN FACT: did you know that this particular series started from manga?

This particular game is a remastered version of the  PS3 exclusive fighting game under the same name. You pick a character from a diverse roster of characters from the various parts (series) of the TV show and manga then take to the battlefield with your stands

The accessibility scores are as follows –

Visibilty  9.5

Let's get the negativesout the way  Initially, there are only one outfit, and color combinations per character. There is, however a way  to uunlock  additional characters and outfits. Most of them are references (to be fair, everything in this world are Jojo treferences!)

However, the only way to unlock all these outfits, and additional colours is  through  grinding. Which can be problematic when taking into consideration players with visual impairments.

Audibility  9

There are subtitles in this game, which can be enabled, and disabled via the options menu, I mean, all dialogue in this game is in Japanese, so, good luck translating the dialogue without this feature enabled!

Mobility  10

As par for the course for a fighting game, you can customise the button layouts to suit your impairments. In a highly competitive environment, for example  fighting games were a single frame input to bridge the gap between victory and defeat, this feature is a lifeline for players with mobility issues

Gmeplay 8

This game has bags of content for you to play through. The online missions mode adds more content to the game.

However, the off-line, single player content seems a little lacklustre, can when paired with other traditional fighting games, for example Tekken 7, and the Xbox 360 reboot of Mortal Kombat.

What makes this game truly stand out from the crowd is that this game incorporates assist attacks, similar to tag fighters. This adds a lot more depth into the game as you work out which character/assist combination works best for you.

Gameplay wise this is very easy to pick up and play. As a case in point there is easy beat mode. This extends the input windows allowing you to perform special moves and combo attacks a lot easier.

This feature evenings out the playing field when playing against a player with a mobility impairment.

In summary, JoJo's bizarre adventures all Star battle R has a lot of polish. The roster of characters for you to choose from is extensive spanning from Johnathan Joestar from part 1 to father Puchhi from part six, to the legendary, vampiric bad @$$, Dio from Stardust Crusaders.

So, if you are a JoJo fanatic, who is looking for a 2D fighter to keep you hyped up, and your reflexes high Street fighter 6 releases in the summer, this game is highly recommended.
