Review of Ultimate Marvel vs Capcom 3(Various Formats)

From managing a professional international football team to league, or of European glory, to battling it out as one of the greatest heroes, almost infamous villains of various CAPCOM titles, mixed in with one of the bonus comic book franchises of modern history.

Can Wolverine, Akuma, and Chun Li, by the way to the top of the Summer of Game Pass rankings? Is this game going to crash and burn?

Let's find out!

Out of all the crossover fighters out there, the Marvel versus Capcom series is the cream of the crop.

The series began its life in 1996 with the first collaboration between CAPCOM, and Marvel came to fruition with X-Men versus Street fighter, released for the Sony PlayStation, and Sega Saturn.

In 1997, the tagteam, crossover series we know and love began as Marvel versus Capcom: Clash  of Super-Heroes was released for various formats, including the ill-fated Sega Dreamcast.

Fast Forward to 2011, with Marvel Versus Capcom 3: Fate of Two Worlds, released for the Xbox 360, and PS3. With the game receiving an upgraded later on that year, and later ported to the eighth generation of hardware when the game was released as a launch title for the PS4 and box One. The game itself is third in the ultimate battle of good versus evil.

Albert Wesker and Dr doom has summoned various villains from both CAPCOM, and Marvel universes. In the process a  mighty, destructive force, Galactus threatened to destroy both universes.

It is up to our heroes to stop Galactus before it's too late!

The accessibility scores are as follows:

Visibility 10.5

As par for the course, each character has seven colour combinations. This should allow you to tailor the colours that your character is wearing to suit your impairments. It might not be extensive as KI, but better than nothing, i guess! So, a player with a visual impairment should be able to play this game with no issues.

Audibility 10

There is very little spoken dialogue in this game. Just a few lines of dialogue before  & After each match starts. Subtitles can also be enabled and disabled via the options menu. But, the majority of the dialogue in this game is text-based. So a player with a hearing impairment should be able to play this game very easily.

Mobility 10

For a  2-D fighting game, this game definitely has charm. The DNA of classic Fighters, for example, Street Fighter, and dark starkers are definitely in this game. What makes the series unique is the game's tag system. Instead of traditional fighting games, you pick three characters from a diverse roster which can be switched, or "tagged" at any moment. When the active character gets knocked out, another member of your team will enter the stage, and take his or her place.

The two characters that are inactive can be used to carry out a hit and run style attack. These are commonly known as "assists". Using the right mixture of characters, mastering the various styles, combos, and devastating Super attacks AKA Hyper Combos, using their assists to turn the tide of battle is vital for victory. Also, another mechanic that makes the Marvel versus Capcom series, unique is the "X factor"  system.

A player can activate this feature by pressing all four face buttons of the controller to give the character a temporary damage buff.

The damage increase is proportionate to the number of characters left alive. So, when you are on your last character, activating X factor can help you. Even the odds, in some cases, win you the match! Evo Moment 37 style

In summary, ultimate Marvel versus Capcom 3 is a classic 2-D fighter done right. The amount of new mechanics makes the game unique, and stand out in a highly congested market.

The amount of characters in the roster is massive. From Ryu, and Akuma from Streetfighter, Dante and Trish from Devil May cry, from Wolverine to Capt America, to Albert Wesker, from resident evil, even from You get the picture. If you are a fighting game enthusiast and is looking for a fighting game to play over the summer, in preparation for competitive tournaments, this game could be a good choice.
