Review of Two-Point Hospital(PC, PS4, Xbox, Switch)

Hey, everyone! Today, I review the successor to one of the most popular management, simulation games of the 90s. Does this game live up to the legacy of the original title?

 Let's find out!

This review is dedicated to the front-line care staff, doctors, now trained vaccinate those who currently work for the NHS

who selflessly put their lives at risk to keep us all safe during the COVID 19 pandemic. As you can probably tell, the NHS saved my life more times than counted

right, guys the original plan was to put the channel's week-long hiatus, as a precaution of any side-effects from the Covid 19 vaccine I received on Monday.

But, this has ended prematurely, as I have no side effects. To the day of writing marks one year on since the first lockdown started, here in the UK. So I decided to review a game that is actively used to train management staff in hospitals and surgeries

Again, I digress, on with this review!

In 1997, bullfrog software released Theme Hospital (back in those days games was distributed in 6 1/2 inch floppy disks! Seriously, guys Microsoft's Windows, as we know it was not even released at that time!)

Was a cult classic, receiving a lot of praise from critics. And was ported to various systems including the PlayStation.

In 2018 oxymoron games released Project Hospital, and new, a new development studio, Two Point Studios, released this game, published by Sega Enterprises. The game itself is set in the fictional Two-Point County.

You play the part of the manager of a chain of hospitals currently active in two-point County. It is up to you to build the various facilities, amenities and hired staff necessary for the smooth running of the hospital.

The accessibility scores are as follows –

Visibility 8

Although there are no colour blind modes available in the game, there is very little need for one. There are no colour-coded elements that King Charles issues for a colourblind player.

The only criticism that I have of this game (console version only) is that the cursor that appears in the centre of the screen as a little too small. However, when the cursor is over as selectable item, for example of room or a member of staff working in your hospital, the cursor expands. So, a player with a visual impairment should be able to play this game. With little to no issues.

Audibility 7

There is no subtitles support during cut scenes. But, they are in the style of a TV advert. Apart from that, the majority of dialogue and notifications are text-based find the message system.

Mobility 9

Although the PC version has no controller support, nor vice versa for the console version, the controls Systems in this game is very easy-to-use. Hats off to Two-point studios! As for the PC version, as you may have surmised, the game is controlled by the mouse.

Gameplay 9.5

For a successor to theme Hospital, this game is very true to the original game. Certain ailments featured in this game is a carbon copy from theme Hospital.

The idea of new ailments cropping up, which requires new treatment procedures is an excellent way to keep you on your toes as you put your micromanagement skills to the test! The game clocks in, on average 44 hours, 9 minutes,

Also, with the DLC taken into account included in the jumbo edition, that playtime gets extended to 82 hours, 30 minutes, so you'll be playing this game for quite a while!

Although a healthcare environment, for example, a hospital, seems to be a very grim, and daunting subject (again, to give for me!), the light-hearted humour in the game makes visits to the hospital for either diagnosis or treatment a lot easier to bear.

In summary, Two Point Hospital is an excellent game if you are into the management subgenre, for example, games like Tropico, and, of course, Theme Hospital.

This is the only hospital management game available on console, so if you are looking for a management simulation game, but your PC is low spec, thanks to GPU shortages, this game is highly recommended!

OVERALL SCORE 83.75%
