Review of Total War Warhammer 2(PC)

Hey, everyone! This time I review yet another entry of the total War series, this time based on the highly successful tabletop games does Craig have enough strength to be the Trojans? Or will his forces just be cannon fodder?

Let's find out!

(best enjoyed with headphones on!)

The said in my previous review of total war Saga Troy, the total War series is synonymous of the strategy games genre, its unique blend of city and army management and its turn-based campaign map, mixed in with fast-paced real-time battles makes this franchise very hard to replicate. When Sega acquired games workshop in 2012, the collaboration between the highly successful total War series and Warhammer seemed imminent. In 2016, the first game in the series released on PC. The success of the game persuaded the company to create a sequel. The very next year, this game was released.

This particular entry in the series is based around a great vortex that was created by Caledor to prevent a potential invasion by the forces of Chaos. Now, the various factions on the campaign Map are competing to either stabilise the vortex, and defeat the forces of Chaos, or control the vortex itself and use its magical energies for their own benefit.

The accessibility  scores are as follows –

Visibility 10

you can set alliance colors, similar to most entries of the franchise. When activated, the color of uniforms that each soldier is wearing is relative to the diplomatic stance towards your fraction. Also, you could add colorblind modes to that feature to make the game more accessible for visually impaired player. So, you will experience no issues if you were to play this game.

Audibillity 10

the in-game dialogue that is said by a particular character, subtitles will appear in speech bubbles similar to a graphic novel or comic book. Also, if an event were to happen in battle, for example the enemy general has been killed, on-screen notifications will appear on the right side of the screen. You can then click on these notifications for more information. So you'll be able to keep tabs on the battle as they progress.

So a player with a hearing impairment will find no issues when playing this game

Mobility 9.5

Like all strategy games, the game is primarily controlled by using the mouse. Left click selects units, and right click to issue orders there are hotkeys for the competitive RTS players, which can be customized. So, a mobility impaired player will find it fairly easy to play this game.

Gameplay  10.5

In short, this is the best total war game of the series. First off, the list Of races you can play as in the eye of the vortex campaign is large. However, if you own both total war war  Warhammer  games, new have access to the mortal Empire's campaign. This is the most expansive campaign of the total War series. It combines the campaign maps of both games into one. Any additional DLC you own for the original, automatically get carried over to the mortal Empire's campaign. In short, as I said in the Total War Saga Troy review, no battle feels the same as you plan, strategise and defeat AI players, or other players online.

Each and every faction has its own strengths, weaknesses and mechanics. With the developers actively adding new content into the game, this game show no signs of going away. To be honest, I truly cannot wait for  Total War: Warhammer 3!

In summary, Total War Warhammer 2 is the most expansive game of the franchise. With the mortal empires being a massive expansion pack to the game itself, the amount of DLC available to the game adds more and more content and challenges as time goes on.

However, most of the DLC has to be purchased separately, therefore can be very expensive to get the "full experience" of the game.

If you are looking for a long strategy game to play in the run-up to the festive period, this game could be a good choice!
