ULTIMATE REVIEW KOMBAT- SHAOLIN MONKS-DEVIL MAY CRY 5(PC, PS4, Xbox One PS4,

Hey, everyone! Welcome to Ultimate Review Kombat- a way of settling [censored]storms within the Community. Think of this as the DGR version of a match of Gunfight, 1v1 on Rust, or the Gulag . This time – it's battle of the Frasers! As Kenzie "N7"Retro butt heads against the defending champion CRSnake96!

Who will emerge victorious this time?

Let's find out!

(this narration is  best enjoyed headphones on!)

Have you ever said something that particularly offended another person? (When the kobattants did.... numerous times!) Well..... That's the reason why this review exists!

Grab a nice, comfy seat, get some popcorn. It's time for story time!

It was the night of 9 June, 2020. I went for a walk to the ease the anxiety of the impending module results from University. T-Minus was under 12 hours till   the results went live I was thinking "if I were to find out that I have passed, God, after all this worrying it would make me look like a fool!" So, I have decided to make a little bet with myself. If I were to find out that I have passed I would have to do a punishment game. So, I asked my friends the following question – what game would you rather walk the full length of an athletics track, barefoot, on Lego rather than play?. Kenzie picked Devil May Cry 5.

The slight issue with that is CRSnake is a big fan of the franchise. After his previous victory over Faithless Games when I reviewed  Ori and the Will of the Wisps, he decided to call out CRSnake, on a Facebook group chat, claiming that this game would not score high. Obviously, the gauntlet was thrown at this point, as CRSnake seized this golden opportunity to get his Dragonball Z Kakrot review!

Here are the stakes –

If this game is scorers over 80%,Dragonball Z Kakarot is the next review. after Middle Earth Shadow of War If it doesn't, Kenzie picks next week's review. But enough talk! Have at you!

CAPCOM's Devil May Cry series is one of the companies trademark arcade style hack N Slash Games. The first entry of the series was released for the PlayStation 2 in 2001.

This series has been genre-defining, as they created the stylish action sub-genre.  After Devil May cry 4  CAPCOM decided to put this franchise on the back burner, along with a fair few IPs, for example Street Fighter. In 2013 Ninja Theory decided to give the franchise a much-needed reboot. Unfortunately, this particular entry in the series was not received too well. The majority of the fans and critics criticised the game, mostly due to the change of Dante's look.

This particular entry of this series was released in  March 2019. This game picks up where Devil May cry 4 left off.Nero, our Demon slaying protagonist has begun to build a branch for Dante's business, Devil May Cry. Unfortunately Nero was attacked by a hooded figure, ripping off the Devil bringer, and stealing the mnemonic blade which Nero possesed, Yamato. It is up to you to find who attacked you with the help of series veterans Dante, Trish and Lady and end this bloody rivalry between our 2 protagonists!

The accessibility scores are as follows-

Visibility 8
There are no colorblind modes  in this game, but the colour scheme is easy enough to understand for a colourblind player, after all everything you see on the screen, except for Nero is an enemy. The only slight issue that may cause issues for a colourblind player is that red orbs are used as currency to purchase skill upgrades and weapons before a mission starts. Green orbs gives Nero an instant  health boost, which is extremely important when engaging a cluster of enemies. Other than that, no major issues there!

Audibility 10

There are  in-game subtitles which can be switched on and off via   the games options menu. So you should be able to understand what's going on as the game progresses.

Mobility 11

the button layouts can be fully customised via the games options menu. So you  can customise whichever button layout suits your impairments best. So CAPCOM fails to disappoint with reference to this category.

Gameplay 9
first off, let me say one thing. Devil May cry is back, baby! Gameplay wise this game redeems the franchise from the abysmal failure that was the reboot. The game's trademark hack and slash style gameplay has been improved greatly from previous entries of the franchise. The camera remains static, behind Nero for the majority of the game. The only gripe that I have with this game is due to its level design.

From what I have played, the levels seems linear. As you constantly push forward towards the objective, in this case at the end of the level, slaying any daemons that gets in your way. The story is very good. It still retains the exact same charm and stylish gameplay that the franchise is famous for!

In conclusion, Devil May Cry 5 seems like a breath of fresh air to the fans of the franchise. It retains what makes the franchise  awesome, with the odd new feature  two to keep it fresh and appealing. With this game been available on Xbox game pass for console, it would be absolute madness not to at least get this game a try!
