Review of Phantom Doctrine(various formats)

He everyone! Today I review yet another turn-based tactical game, as a favour to a very special person. Does Rob have what it takes to uncover the criminal conspiracy in  this blog?

Let's find out!

(Best enjoyed with headphones on!)

This review is dedicated to a person that has befriended me ever since I set foot through the door of UWS. He has been supporting me through this degree. So, this one is for you, Rob! Thanks for 4 years of awesomeness!

I will never forget the awesome  times we had both in UWS and Counterstrike Global Offensive, and watching HowToBasic videos

The turn-based tactical sub genre was revolutionised when Firaxis games released XCOM Enemy Unknown. Ever since this game is released there has been numerous spin-offs of the XCOM formula. Phantom Doctrine  is one of those games.

The game is set in a fictional Cold War. Russia and the USA is now competing against each other to become the world's most dominant superpower, in the aftermath of World War II.

During this time, espionage has started to become one of the most important factors during warfare. You play as a former CIA or KGB agent. You manage your resources, agents as you investigate yet another secret organisation as you put a stop to a massive global conspiracy!

The accessibility scores are as follows:

Visibility 10
There are no colourblind modes in this game. But, the way you determine friend from foe is the colour of the units health bars. Your  agents have a light blue heath bar while hostile units have red health bars, also, your agents have their names displayed on  their health bars. Enemy units does not have names above their  health bars So, you should be fine with this game.

Audibilility 10
There are in-game subtitles available in this game, so you should be able to understand what's going on as the story progresses.

Mobility 11
There is a controller option added to this game. So that way, you can use either  a keyboard and mouse or a standard Xbox One controller to play this game. So, this gaming is extremely accessible  for your impairments.

Gameplay 8
This game is a mimic of XCOM. But, this game has a lot more reliance on stealth rather than rushing in blindly into  combat. Mission objectives include sneaking into enemy bases and retrieving secret files,  and completing various objectives, then get the hell out of there!

However, this play styles can be cumbersome and repetitive at times. But, if you're looking for  a xcom  clone to keep you amused over the summer vacation this game could be a good choice.

OVERALL SCORE 97.5%

See you guys in the next review!

Remember to stay safe, stay inside, stay alive. Death rates  seems to be falling, but let's not get complacent here! This a is a worldwide pandemic, and so the danger still remain!
