Review of Titanfall 2(Xbox One, PS4. PC)

Hey everyone! This week, I review the sequel of Respawn Entertainment's first-person shooter series. Does  Cloud have what it takes to get that Titan dropped?

Request accepted, Cloud, stand by for Titanfall!

(Best enjoyed with headphones on!)

Respawn Entertainment's Titanfall series is the classic tale of the underdog of this generation. The series started off rather slow, as the original Titanfall was released exclusively to the Xbox One Also, the first entry in this series has had more than its' fair share of issues. First off, the game itself was programmed using Microsoft's Azure server-based operating system. Therefore, the single-player element of that game was practically non-existent. To be fair, there was a campaign mode, but, the campaign itself was just a collection of multiplayer matches.

When this game was announced back in 2016 and felt like Respawn Entertainment turned over a new leaf. Respawn got rid of Xbox one exclusivity allowing PlayStation 4 customers standing by for Titanfall

This game takes place In "the Frontier", a collection of planets far away from Earth, a militaristic, totalitarian regime called the "Interstellar Manufacturing Corporation (IMC) has imposed martial law to the populace. Inevitably, the people rose up to form the Frontier Militia which began the fightback against the IMC.

You play the part of Jack Cooper, a Militia grunt who was sent to the alien planet of Typhon as part of a mass assault against the IMC.

Your point of contact upon arrival got captured by the IMC. It is up to you and your trusty titan, BT, who was inherited from its now-deceased pilot to infiltrate the IMC, rescue Maj Anderson and send those corporate dogs packing!

The accessibility scores are as follows:

Visibility 10
this game has numerous colourblind modes which can be changed on the fly via the endangered options menu. This makes it easier to differentiate friend from foe and the heat of battle as much progresses. You should be able to play this game with minimal to no issues.

Audibility 11
there are Indian subtitles which can be displayed during multiplayer matches and the campaign so when a Titan's AI gives updates for example "a friendly Titan is attacking your target" and when your team has the lead so, you should be able to keep on track of what's been said in the campaign or in multiplayer matches, so you can fully MS yourself in the action!

Mobility 11
this game has customisable button layouts so you can rebind the buttons to suit your impairment. Also, the article Sprint function makes playing this game even more accessible! When you are moving forward end this game for a set amount of time your pilot will start sprinting. When sprinting your pilot can pull off free-running manoeuvres like wall running. This is vital as when you come face-to-face with a Titan, manoeuvrability only advantages. The Titan can crush you like a pancake, and its firepower is vastly superior to your own. More on that later. This is probably one of the most accessible games intended this category I have played in a while!

Gameplay 10
this game is an absolute blast to play. Long story cut short, this is Titanfall as it should have been! Unlike its predecessor, this game has a full single-player campaign which is fun to play. The multiplayer element of this game is very extensive first off, this game has a frontier defence co-op mode. You and your friends on Xbox live must defend objectives against wave after wave of enemy attackers to survive.

The multiplayer elements of this game are also extremely fun to play. The game features a plethora of modes from attrition (basically team deathmatch) and most traditional game modes that you'd expect from a  Call of Duty game. The Titan for mechanic makes this game stand out from the crowd and a highly congested market. At irregular intervals, you can call in at Titan. However, you can complete objectives, kill enemy grunts and pilots to speed up the recharge time. As you can gather, when  Titan's called in you have some serious firepower against the enemy team. As a matter of fact, the amount of Titans your team has on the battlefield makes the difference between victory and defeat.

The customisation options in terms of loadouts are extensive apart from choosing primary weapons, secondary weapons, Anti-Titan Weapons. The Titans you that you Call in can also be customised. There are numerous Titan types to choose from. For example, the Ronin Titan is the most manoeuvrable Titan that is available to you. Although you are sacrificing firepower, you have a sword so you can simply hack and slash through the enemy. However, the Monarch Titan may not be the fastest but its missile barrage ability can be devastating to both pilots and Titans. It is up to you to choose which Titan fits your play style best.

In summary, Titanfall 2 as probably the most accessible 1st person shooter I have ever played in a while. The auto Sprint mechanic allows mobility-impaired players to play the game just as well as able-bodied players. This game set the bar for other 1st person shooters, for example, Advanced Warfare's jump jet mechanic was outright plagiarism of the parkour mechanics Titanfall introduced. If you are looking for a futuristic shooter to keep you sane during lockdown, this game is highly recommended

OVERALL SCORE 105%
