Review of Half-Life(PS2/PC)

To continue this theme of old-school classics (or remasters/reboots of them) brings us back to 1998 with probably one of the most influential shooters of all time. But does this game have the accessibility features to match? Let's find out!

In the year 1996, Id  Software, the creators of Doom, released quake for the PC. A former Microsoft developer, along with Marc Laidlaw modified the game's engine, IdTech2 for their own game. The developer is Gabe Newell. The game took the world by storm with sales of 9.3 million copies in 2008.

The game in itself has been the inspiration of  Counter-Strike (CS 1.6). To put it into perspective if it wasn't for this game,  you'd never be able to "Rush B"* on Global Offensive!

But, hey I digress.
Shout-outs  to  dgr newbie Adam "5Star" Malcolm & Gil "Mithrandir" Murray for the request

In this game, you play as Gordon Freeman, a physicist who works for Black Mesa, who is in direct competition with  Aperture Science who was tasked to carry out an experiment into teleport technology. Well... The experiment kinda failed. As a result of this, a link between Xen and Earth is established and the inhabitants began their invasion of Earth! It is your job to get the [censored] out of the facility and discover what went wrong. The accessibility scores are as follows.

Visibility 10
There are no colourblind modes, but there's no need for one. You can very easily distinguish between scientists, security guards, and vortigaunts. The multiplayer is focused around free-for-all combat. You will be OK with this game.

Audibility 0
There are no subtitles outside a mod! (https://steamcommunity.com/app/280/discussions/0/3183345176720819829)
CRITICAL FAILURE!

Mobility 10
You can rebind the keys to suit your impairments. You'll be OK with this game.

Gameplay 11
This game is pretty massive. The Blueshift and Opposing Force expansions add a load of lifespan to the game. With Half-Life Deathmatch (included in the Steam Version)  keeps you playing even longer! It also has the perfect blend of combat and puzzle solving to keep the game interesting.

In summary, this game is pretty damn awesome, it also does not need a NASA PC to run it. So, if you're looking for a game to play over the Summer Break, this game is a good purchase!  Pretty cheap too.

OVERALL SCORE 77.5%

See you guys in the next review
SpartanCommander1990 out!

*= for the people who are unfamiliar with that term, Rushing B is a strategy involving the entire team performing a lighting offensive to bombsite B in an attempt to catch the Counter Terrorist team off-guard.
