Hey, guys! This time I review a strategy game that consumed the majority of our childhoods! Can blizzard's zerg rush their way to the Fulgore award? Let's find out!
In 1998 blizzard entertainment released a sci-fi style RTS where each took the entire world (spectacularly Korea) by storm. 20 years on the game is still being played both casually and competitively to this day. To celebrate the 20th anniversary of this legendary game, blizzard has decided to completely remaster StarCraft.
Now, I remember playing StarCraft before my accident! But hey, I digress onto the review!
StarCraft shows the epic struggle between three races the Terrans, the Protoss and the Zerg. This game will show the epic tale of how this conflict began! The accessibility scores are as follows
Visibility 7
You can change the colours using the shift-tab hotkeyBut, it's not as effective as a full-blown colourblind mode! So a little more work might need to be done to expandthis colourblind support feature
Audibility 5
There is full in game subtitles throughout the campaign so you can understand what's going on. But, textbased notifications for other events for example, when your forces or bases under attackin the same way that Petroglypgh done with 8-bit Armies would be better!
Mobility 10
this game is mostly controlled with the mouse but, you can use hotkeys to navigate the interface (most professionals StarCraft Brood War players would normally memorise these) so you should be able to play this game with minimal to no issues
Gameplay 10
if you are a nostalgia addict, this game is for you! This game also includes its brood War expansion so, it adds lifespan to the single player experience also, with enhanced multiplayer features for example, matchmaking you'll be playing this game for years! No wonder why this game is still being supported and played 20 years on! A must buy for all PC RTS fans *slowly raises hand*
OVERALL SCORE 80%
see you guys in the next view
