you know the feeling of boredom when you are stuck on a train, or maybe a bus? well, this is the reason why this review exists. I have purchased this game to keep me entertained on the train, i got a wifi connection(which set me back a fiver!) so thought i might as well review this game as the train journey progresses.

Anyway onto the review
This game is the fourth* entry in the highly successful Age of Empires series. This time the battle takes place in the new world, America
Visibility 9
This game has a color scheme, that can be activated via the options menu, which makes the game more colorblind friendly, it may not be as good as a full colorblind mode but it should do nonetheless
Audibility 7
The in-game subtitles will help you understand what's going on in the campaigns in but the lack of on-screen notifications does hurt the score a little!
Mobility 6
If you've played an RTS game before, you'll be ok with this, but the only issue is that you can't rebind the hotkeys, other than that, you'll be able to play this game.
Gameplay 8
This game is more of a step back from the second and third* entry in the series. The resource gathering requires no drop-off points which decreases the micro management aspects which makes this game stand out. Every now and again, you can send shipments from the home city, as you fight battles your Home City level increases allowing you to further customize the shipments you can select. This progression system makes you want to continue playing this game, and a very active multiplayer community, there's plenty of options to extend the lifespan.
The campaign is very enthralling and very fun to play, if you own the expansions, you have access to three campaigns. So this game can keep you occupied all summer!
OVERALL SCORE 75%
*=If you classify Age of Mythology as an entry in the series
Now..Let me seee if i can catch a Garydos in London...
