here's how it's gonna work there's 4 individual award categories-
The Fulgore award- the highest review scores for a modern game
The Sega Dreamcast memorial award- the highest scoring retro game
the Firebird Interactive memorial award- the most inaccessible, lowest scoring game in general- the dgr version of the Wooden Spoon
The OTW (One to Watch) award- the game releasing in the coming year that i am looking forward to the most. So let's find out who the lucky winners are!
the Fulgore award goes to
the first ever 100% review score in a modern game the controls are simple it's easy to distinguish friend from foe. It's a prime example on how games today should be made
The Sega Dreamcast award goes to
Rockstar North failed with GTA5 Next-Gen, but they really came back all guns blazing with this game which is the PS2's highest seller. The colour scheme is high contrast, full in-game subtitles can be enabled, basic redefine control layouts.
The FireBird Interactive Memorial Award goes to-
nw, throughout the year I have encountered a few debacles, such as lack of originality, lack of in-game subtitles(yes, Master Chief Collection, i'm looking at you as well) and other acts of disregard of impaired players in their games. But it this game that takes a legendary N64 classic, then completely ruins it in order to make a quick buck. Goldeneye 007 Reloaded makes a over-decade old game look good. Activision might as well rename it to Call of Duty 007 Warefare!
The OTW Award goes to
Halo 5 is specifically designed for e-sports. If they don't mess things up like the Master Chief Collection with a colour blind mode, in-in-game subtitles, and alternate control layouts, this could be an awesome accessible game. Don't screw this up 343i!
