Review of Banjo Kazooie( requested by Claire Love)

this review is  a congratulations gift  from all the staff at  Disabled Gaming Reviews on her engagement . As soon as she knew I purchased the download code for this N64 classic  remastered for Xbox 360, she requested this review. So, is this N64 game is as big a fail as  Goldeneye 007 Reloaded, winner of  the Firebird Interactive Memorial Award at the 2014 bloggies ( the dgr version of the wooden spoon) or has Rare  done a better job than Eurocom? let's find out!

Banjo Kazooie was originally released on June 1998 for the Nintendo 64, and was re-released for the Xbox 360 in December 2008. You play the part of  Banjo the bear, and his red feathered sidekick Kazooie, has to go save his sister Tootie from Gruntilda the witch.

the accessibility scores are as follows

visibility 10
Although there is no colourblind mode, there's no need for one.  it's easy to distinguish friend from from foe, as Banjo is always at the centre of the screen and everyone else in the world  is foe. So it's easy to play this game with any visual impairments.

audibility 10

The characters don't actually speak. it's just noises. But there's full in-game subtitles so good luck understanding without them. Considering the fact that this game is designed for youths, this form of craziness is to be expected. So marking this game down is a bit Draconian. So you should be able to understand what's going on in the game.

mobility 10
Although there's no way of customizing the controls, the controls are pretty basic if you have played classic platformers  such as Super Mario 64 you'll  feel right at  home. I you haven't, have no fear the controls are pretty easy to pick up and play! so no problems in sight for gamers with visual impairments.

gameplay 10

This game focuses heavily on exploration as you find certain items, such as skull tokens (Halo skull cliche *ding*)   mole hills which allows you to use new abilities, and small creatures known as Ginjos and most importantly jigsaw pieces which allows you to unlock new worlds   as Banjo as you progress through Gruntilda's lair.Unlike Goldeneye Reloaded it retains the nostalgic N64-style graphics, music and sound, while modernizing them, allowing the game to be played in it's full HD rendered glory.

OVERALL SCORE 100%

First Ultra Combo in 2015! the bipolar opposite of Goldeneye 007 Reloaded!
