review of F1 Race Stars requested by Tom Starkey, Coey Renton and Fraser McKenzie

 this review was requested  by  a lot of people. Science i bought it on Friday, i wanted to post a review this game. so can  Vettel beat  Capcom and take the chequered flag? or will it crash and burn like Niki   Lauda during the  German grand prix in August 1st 1979( thanks for the info Fraser!) let's find out!



This game in a nutshell  is a cross between F1 and the popular Mario Kart series. You pick a racer from (mostly) the 2012 F1 roster, with a few fictitious drives thrown into the mix. You then battle it out on   fictitious race tracks from(mostly) the 2012  F1 season. the accessibility scores are as follows:
Visibility- 10  Fraser qualifies at 1st position.
this game is easily playable for players with visual impairments.  if you are an expert like( as you can see) Fraser you will be able to identify which team a driver is from. and there is little need for a colour blind filter as the drivers' names  are displayed just above his or her car.  this game is a Ok for visually impaired players


Audible 10- this game seems to be suitable for players with hearing impairments.the only spoken dialogue is the trash talk when a driver overtakes another such as "later!"which only adds extra humour into this game.
mobility 8 Vettel drops to 4th after pitting in.

although there is an opton to use an Xox 360 controllers as well as the keyboard(PC only)there is no way of remapping  the buttons when using a controller but the controls are pretty basic, and pro-forma  for racers using this Mario Kart-esque formula . right trigger accelerates left trigger brakes/reverse. if you have played this type of racer  such as Sonic and Sega all-stars racing. Yo should feel right at home with this game.
Game play - 9 at least Vettel finished on the podium!

although the game has quite a long lifespan. good multiplayer via split screen, various game modes long single player career mode, but  the lack of tracks that are shipped with the game can be frustrating.  there are little to no players playing online the game play can be repetitive and can get boring quite quickly.

OVERALL SCORE  92.5
Vettel  failed to beat Guile as he wins the season!
